Spring into reading!

The third day of spring is showing signs of the season--sunshine, warmth, and the appearance of flowers in our back yard. This combination, naturally, puts me in the mood for some season-appropriate reading. For the picture-book set, there's the Caldecott-Award-winning favorite Kitten's First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes, and Silly Little Goose! by Nancy Tafuri, plus the ingenious Spring Is here, by Taro Gomi.

The chapter-book crowd will find many books perfect for a balmy afternoon. Some of my favorites are The Penderwicks and The Penderwicks on Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall, Princess Ben by Catherine Gilbert Murdock (a delightful fairy tale for older readers), Mallory on the Move and sequels by Laurie B. Friedman, and the Emma Dilemma books by Patricia Hermes.

Even book-lovers have to face another aspect to this lovely season--Pesach cleaning! I guess my reading will have to wait until a bit later.

See you among the pages.
